Biography

Alasdair Godfrey joined Health Technology Analysts when it was part of Optum UHG as APAC Regional Leader. Following a management buy-out, he is now co-owner and Managing Director, with strategic oversight of the organisation and team.

Alasdair has held senior roles across the health technology and pharmaceutical sectors, including market access leadership at a global healthcare consultancy. He is a recognised health technology assessment expert and has served as an evaluator for the Australian Medical Services Advisory Committee. In this role, he managed complex evaluations of medical devices, co-dependent technologies, diagnostic tests and clinical services. He has also led the development of several clinical practice guidelines.

He has contributed to consultative groups and expert committees with the Pharmaceutical Benefits Division, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee and the Medical Technology Association of Australia. His work focuses on patient access, health policy and evidence-based decision making.

Alasdair holds degrees in Medicine and Genetics. Before moving to Australia in the early 2000s, he held clinical, research and academic roles in Cambridge and Glasgow, with a focus on oncology and autoimmune diseases. His professional interests include health policy, genomic research and equitable access to healthcare.
